Financing

Because there are many dental insurance carriers, each with multiple policies and different coverage levels, we are unable to provide a universal statement about which plans cover our practice and for which services.

We encourage you to contact your insurance carrier about recommended treatments to learn the extent of coverage. Our office staff works with you and coordinates billing with your insurance company to help you receive all the benefits that your policy provides.

We offer many options to pay for care not covered by insurance, including elective treatments. These include cash, check and most major credit cards. See the “Your Care” page for flexible payment options.

General Dentistry

Dental health varies from person to person; a general rule for adults is to visit a dentist once or twice a year, even if your mouth is in excellent condition. This way, you can get your teeth professionally cleaned regularly and maintain excellent oral health.

In addition to daily brushing and flossing, take your oral hygiene to the next level by following these steps.

  • Use products that contain fluoride
  • Limit snacks that are high in sugar
  • Eat a balanced diet of fruits and vegetables
  • Avoid tobacco in any form

A full set of dental X-rays helps your doctor provide preventive care. X-rays help your doctor monitor changes that could be happening in your teeth between appointments. Most adults have bitewing X-rays every year and a full mouth series every four to five years. People with conditions that place them at higher risk for dental problems may need full mouth X-rays every 6-18 months.

Advanced Prosthodontics/Treatment

Missing teeth can lead to health problems as well as personal appearance concerns. A lost tooth creates a space that affects the area around it. Pressure from normal activities, like eating, can cause the remaining teeth to shift and tilt. Tilted teeth can become unstable which makes them more likely to deteriorate. Teeth support facial tissue, such as your lips and cheeks. When gaps created by missing teeth are left open, tissue can “cave in” significantly changing a person’s appearance.

We use advanced materials such as Emax (Lithium Disilicate) for replacement teeth and non-allergic dental alloys such as titanium to fabricate implant abutments and frameworks. We use the highest quality denture teeth to create optimally functional and natural-looking dentures.

For anyone with a healthy mouth and jaw dental implants are the ideal way to replace missing or weakened teeth because they help prevent the remaining teeth from moving or loosening.

Puget Sound Advanced Prosthodontics works with surgical specialists at our treatment center and at their clinics to serve people efficiently and where they’re comfortable. It is possible for your team to install implants and your replacement teeth in one procedure. Dr. Schmidt is proficient in the All-On-4® dental implant technique.

Discuss all preferences with your primary dental provider. Decisions about the approach which delivers the best solution and best outcomes are made as a treatment team with you.
