Our Practice Leaders
Kyle Schmidt, DDS, MSD
Chief Inspiration Officer
Nobody calls Kyle “Dr. Schmidt” but don’t let that fool you.
Kyle is an award-winning Prosthodontist, a mentor, an instructor of graduate residents at the University of Washington and an innovator of all things related to advanced reconstructive dentistry. He chooses to create the best possible solution over the “usual way” to do things every time.
People and family are his priorities. He founded Puget Sound Advanced Dentistry to make sure there’s a place where the best care is given with the most care.
Background
Kyle was born and raised in Everett, Washington, where his dental center and home are located.
He received life-changing dental care when 11 years old and decided then to help others in the same way. After earning his general dentistry degree Kyle pursued an advanced degree in prosthodontics so he can help people with the most significant dental problems live a full life.
A self-described “family guy,” Kyle and his wife, Mikala share an active outdoor lifestyle with their two children. He’s a serious weekend farmer and heavy equipment operator.
Community Service
Puget Sound Advanced Dentistry supports the Everett Boys and Girls Club, Hand in Hand and local sports teams, and sponsors local school fundraising.

Samiksha Gulrajani, DMD
Chief Quality Experience Officer
Dr. Gulrajani guides our general dentistry practice with warmth, calm and focus on details that add up to advanced care for every person we serve. She goes by “Dr. G.” and creates a relaxing atmosphere for patients and staff.
After achieving her Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry degree, Dr. G. joined the University of Cincinnati Health Dental Center staff. She provided routine and urgent care, treatment for medically complex and special needs patients, and trained degree candidates in the university’s Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency Program.
Background
Dr. G. grew up in Ohio. She attended college and dental school in Pittsburgh, PA and worked briefly as a dental hygienist and assistant early in her career.
She moved to Washington in July of 2020 and appreciates living close to mountains and the Puget Sound. She enjoys being outside riding her bike and hiking—as much as one hike every week during the summer. Lifting weights is part of her fitness routine, something she started after completing dental school. Dr. G. also likes to bake, especially cookies to take on hikes.
Community Service
Dr. G. provides dental care for local Army and Navy Reserve troops on an as-needed basis.

Comfort Specialist
Cathy performs dental and periodontal cleanings, X-Rays and teaches patients how to care for their teeth and gums based on their individual needs. She administers and assists with anesthesia. She collaborates with patients and our dentists to ensure comfort and the highest level of dental care.
Cathy joined Puget Sound Advanced Dentistry’s team in 2019.
Cathy loves family game nights, cooking, reading and traveling. She volunteers for a variety of local organizations as a leader and supporter. She’s been a UW Alumnae board member and held several roles within the Washington State Dental Hygienists’ Association.

Comfort Specialist
Mary performs dental cleaning, X-rays and assists with anesthetics. She instructs patients on teeth and gum care to help them achieve maximum dental health.
She collaborates with patients and our dentists to ensure comfort and has been with our practice since 2013.
Mary enjoys time with her family, traveling, cooking, and any activity that involves the outdoors and sunshine.

Jess assists our doctors with general dentistry and prosthodontic treatments. She prepares the treatment room and instruments, and provides required materials during procedures every step of the way.
She’s been a member of the Puget Sound Advanced Dentistry team since late 2018.
Jess enjoys family time, watching her sons play baseball and boating.

Susan

Care and Comfort Specialist
Susan works side-by-side with our dentists, ensuring treatment runs smoothly and that patients remain comfortable. In addition to patient care responsibilities, she manages the back office, sterile room and oversees the ordering of all clinical supplies.
She has worked with Dr. Schmidt since 2006 and with Puget Sound Advanced Dentistry since it opened in 2009.
Outside the office, Susan enjoys spending time with her friends and family and loves to travel.

Patient Advocate
Christina helps patients navigate the financial part of their treatment plan, and coordinates with insurance companies.
She works to get the maximum coverage for every claim, and willingly does the extra paperwork and phone calls if that’s what it takes. She is happy to answer any and all questions.
Member of the Puget Sound Advanced Dentistry team since 2009.
Christina enjoys time with her extended family, traveling and is an avid music fan. She grows awesome tomatoes and is learning to keep bees. She mentors women through a network of support groups.

Ellen
Patient Care Coordinator
Ellen schedules appointments for routine, emergency and advanced procedures so every patient is served as quickly as their situation demands. She greets patients when they arrive and sets up whatever appointment is next in their care plan.
Joined Puget Sound Advanced Dentistry in 2013.
Ellen is a proud Soroptimist, helping women and girls achieve social and economic goals. She enjoys spending time with her family, especially boating. She also enjoys baking, fishing, crabbing and relaxing on Hat Island.
